Top Dog Pet Sitters Named 2026 Best of Texas Regional Winner

McKinney, Texas – October 02, 2026 – PRESSADVANTAGE –

Top Dog Pet Sitters announced today that it has been named a Regional Winner in the 2026 Best of Texas awards presented by Guide to Texas. The McKinney-based pet sitting and dog walking company was recognized in the Pet Boarders & Sitters category based on votes cast by clients and readers over the past year. Guide to Texas published the 2026 results on October 1 and will include the company among this year’s winners in its Best of Texas print annual.

Best of Texas is an annual awards program in which readers of Guide to Texas nominate and vote for businesses across more than 20 industry and community sections. Votes are cast throughout the year, and Guide to Texas tabulates them and compiles the results along with its editor’s picks. Before results are released, the organization’s editorial and compliance team reviews the votes to confirm they are valid and checks each winning business for good standing. Winners are recognized in three tiers: Best of Texas, the statewide designation for the highest vote totals in a category; Regional Winner, which recognizes businesses at the regional level; and Honorable Mention.

“Every one of those votes came from someone who took time out of their day to support a small, local business,” said Susan Gary, owner of Top Dog Pet Sitters. “Families trust our team with their homes and with animals they love like family. Seeing that trust recognized alongside businesses from across the state means a great deal to all of us.”

Top Dog Pet Sitters has provided in-home pet care since 2015. Gary and her husband, Erick, who co-owns the company, bring more than 30 years of combined pet care experience and lead a team of ten background-checked pet sitters and dog walkers. The company has completed more than 75,000 pet care visits, and care is available 24 hours a day.

The company cares for pets in their own homes rather than in a boarding facility. Services include pet sitting while owners travel, recurring dog walking, cat sitting, house sitting, medication administration, and care for birds, rabbits, guinea pigs, and other small animals. Each visit is logged with GPS-verified arrival and departure times, and pet owners receive a visit journal with photos, allowing them to see how their pet was cared for from anywhere. New clients start with a Meet and Greet before the first scheduled visit.

The Best of Texas recognition follows a series of local honors. Top Dog Pet Sitters was named Best of McKinney by the McKinney Chamber of Commerce each year from 2022 through 2025, received Star Local Media’s Readers’ Choice award for Melissa, Anna, and Van Alstyne in 2024 and 2025, and received Living Magazine’s Best of Readers’ Choice award in 2023 and 2026. The company is bonded and insured, and its staff are certified in pet first aid and CPR. In June 2026 the company extended its service area to Celina.

“Our goal has always been to give pet owners real peace of mind while they are away,” Gary added. “To every client who voted for us this year, thank you. It keeps our whole team focused on doing the job the right way, one visit at a time.”
