CallRadius now sets up CallRail call tracking, covered by a business associate agreement, for dental and medical practices that advertise on LSA.
SCOTTSDALE, AZ, UNITED STATES, October 5, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — CallRadius, a managed Google Local Services Ads (LSA) service based in Scottsdale, now sets up call tracking for dentists, chiropractors, physical therapists and other healthcare providers that advertise on LSA. Calls are tracked through CallRail, the call tracking and analytics company, on its Healthcare plan. CallRail says every Healthcare plan includes a business associate agreement (BAA), the contract the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) requires before a vendor handles patient information on a provider’s behalf.
The gap in healthcare LSA
Local Services Ads charge per lead, and for most categories Google records the calls it sends so advertisers can review each one. Health care is an exception. Google’s Local Services Ads help center states that “call recordings and messages aren’t available for health care verticals or tax specialists,” and that “lead credits aren’t available for health care verticals.”
As a result, a dental or medical practice pays for charged leads with no recording to review and no automated lead credit when a lead turns out to be invalid. Without recordings, a practice has no direct way to check which charged calls came from new patients and which came from existing patients, wrong numbers or sales calls, or how each call was handled at the front desk.
“Healthcare is one of the few LSA categories where a practice pays for leads and cannot hear a single one of those calls,” said Doug Brown, founder of CallRadius. “Call tracking on a HIPAA healthcare plan gives a practice back the ability to see which calls were real new patients, without moving patient information outside a protected system.”
How it works
– CallRadius sets up a CallRail tracking number for the practice and adds it to the practice’s Local Services Ad.
– Calls are recorded, with a recording disclosure, and stored in the practice’s CallRail Healthcare account, which is covered by CallRail’s business associate agreement.
– CallRail’s Healthcare plan includes call recording, transcripts and call scoring.
– A CallRadius LSA manager, working under a business associate agreement with the practice, compares the leads Google charged for with the calls the practice actually received, and flags missed calls and front-desk patterns that cost the practice new patients.
“A practice can’t fix what it can’t hear,” Brown said. “Tracking every LSA call shows a practice where the advertising budget is going and where new patients are being lost.”
What any healthcare advertiser should check
HIPAA has no government approval or certification for software. Compliance depends on signed agreements and on the safeguards each company puts in place. CallRadius recommends that any practice considering call tracking confirm four things:
1. The call tracking vendor has signed a business associate agreement with the practice.
2. Every company that listens to or reviews patient calls, including the marketing agency, has signed one too.
3. Callers hear a recording disclosure. Some states require consent from everyone on a recorded call.
4. Call recordings and caller details are not copied into tools outside those agreements, such as spreadsheets, CRMs or ad platforms.
