Copilot Users Get Evidence-Backed Answers From The Scientific Literature & A Compliant Path To Licensed Full Text, Together In One Enterprise AI Environment
HENDERSON, Nev., Nov. 3, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — Research Solutions (NASDAQ: RSSS), a leading provider of AI-powered scientific research tools, announces integrations of two of its core products, Scite and Article Galaxy, for Microsoft Copilot. Together, they let Copilot users search and evaluate scientific literature, then check access rights and pricing on the papers behind an answer, without leaving Microsoft 365.
The integrations pair two capabilities that enterprise research teams have had to manage separately. Scite grounds Copilot answers in peer-reviewed evidence and shows how findings hold up across the literature. Article Galaxy connects those answers to an organization’s entitlements, reuse rights, and acquisition options, so teams can act on what they find in a compliant way.
Both run within Microsoft Copilot’s security and compliance framework, a requirement for the corporate and academic organizations standardized on Microsoft 365.
“Researchers across the enterprise have moved their work into AI tools like Copilot,” said Roy W. Olivier, Chief Executive Officer, Research Solutions. “By bringing Scite and Article Galaxy into that environment as integrations, we give those teams trusted evidence and a compliant path to the literature in the place they already work. It reflects the strategy we have built across our portfolio: connect our products to the AI tools our customers use, and become the research layer they rely on.”
Scite: Evidence Copilot Can Stand Behind
AI assistants generate fluent answers quickly, but their coverage of scholarly material is limited, and they cannot tell a well-supported finding from a contested one. Scite closes that gap with Smart Citations, which read the full text of citing articles and classify each citation as supporting, contrasting, or mentioning the work it references. Scite’s index spans peer-reviewed journal articles, book chapters, preprints, patents, clinical trials, and research grants, and surfaces editorial notices such as retractions and expressions of concern, along with regulatory and safety content including FDA 510(k) clearances, MHRA safety alerts, and FDA MAUDE adverse-event reports.
With Scite in Copilot, teams can:
- Check their work against the literature. Bring a document, presentation, or email thread into Copilot and use Scite to find evidence that supports or challenges the claims inside it.
- Add scholarly evidence to Researcher agent in Copilot. Combine internal knowledge with peer-reviewed research to produce deeper, cited reports.
- Give Copilot scientific context. Read Microsoft 365 content alongside the research record so that answers reflect not just what an organization knows but what the evidence shows.
Article Galaxy: From Answer To Compliant Access
Finding the right paper is only half the work. Article Galaxy handles the other half inside Copilot: checking whether a team already holds an article through its subscriptions or library, what it would cost to obtain, and what the organization is permitted to do with it. That last point matters most to regulated industries, where reuse rights are a compliance question, not a convenience. Article Galaxy returns rights for specific uses, including generative-AI and text-and-data-mining rights at the individual-article level, so teams can confirm a paper is cleared for AI use before they rely on it.
With Article Galaxy in Copilot, teams can:
- Check availability, access options, and pricing for a paper by Digital Object Identifier (DOI).
- Retrieve available full text and Smart Citation content for records they can access.
- Review reuse rights for specific scenarios, including generative-AI use.
- Track existing orders and view account usage and remaining quota.
Strategic Context
The two integrations extend Research Solutions’ connected AI strategy, which already links Scite to ChatGPT, Claude, Claude Code, Cursor, and other MCP-enabled tools. Bringing both products into Copilot as integrations positions Research Solutions as the trusted evidence and compliant-access layer for enterprise AI, inside the platform where a large share of corporate and academic research already happens.
“Our customers turn to Microsoft Copilot for their most important work, and they benefit when they can bring specialized, trusted sources into that experience,” said Chantrelle Nielsen, Principal Product Manager, Microsoft Copilot at Microsoft. “By integrating Scite and Article Galaxy with Microsoft Copilot, Research Solutions gives research teams a way to ground their work in the scientific literature and manage how that content is accessed and used in the apps they rely on every day.”
The Scite and Article Galaxy integrations are available now in the Microsoft Marketplace.
