Florida State Fence Completes Safety Fencing for Crystal Lake Boardwalk Project

Company installs 1,200 linear feet of protective fencing along reconstructed Polk County boardwalk

TAMPA, FL, UNITED STATES, September 1, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — Florida State Fence, a trusted Tampa based fencing contractor with extensive experience in community projects, has completed the installation of safety fencing for the Crystal Lake Boardwalk project at Crystal Lake Park in Lakeland.

Florida State Fence installed approximately 1,200 linear feet of 42-inch-high chain-link fencing, with about 600 feet running along each side of the new boardwalk. Designed to help prevent falls while preserving visitors’ views of Crystal Lake, the fencing is an important safety component of the reconstructed public amenity.

Built more than 25 years ago, the approximately 600-foot boardwalk on the north side of Crystal Lake had deteriorated and remained closed to the public for several years.

In February, the Polk County Board of County Commissioners approved a construction contract with Stokes Marine Inc. for the demolition of the former structure and construction of the replacement boardwalk.

The nearly $650,000 community investment includes the new boardwalk and its related safety features. Funding was made available through Polk County’s Parks and Natural Resources Community Investment Program.

Florida State Fence completed its portion of the work on schedule, helping keep the overall project on track for its anticipated late-summer completion.

The renewed boardwalk is expected to restore an important recreational connection for residents of the Crystal Lake neighborhood and visitors to the park.
